About Lundby Dollhouses
The answers in this FAQ refer to Lundby's current 2026 product range, unless otherwise stated. For information about older Lundby dollhouses, furniture and accessories, please see the section "Older Lundby Dollhouses & Accessories" below.
Where do Lundby dollhouses come from?
Lundby is a Swedish dollhouse brand founded in 1947. Today, Lundby is part of Micki, the Swedish Toy House, and its dollhouses are developed with a strong focus on Swedish design, quality, details and imaginative play.
Which Lundby dollhouse should I choose?
Lundby Star is a modern interpretation of Lundby's classic two-storey dollhouse. Lundby Wonder is a larger three-storey dollhouse with more space for bigger doll families. Choose the house based on how much space you have and how large a dollhouse world the child wants to create.
How do I assemble a Lundby dollhouse?
Assembly instructions are included in the product packaging and are also available at mickiofsweden.com. You can also watch a step-by-step video showing how to assemble the dollhouse.
How do I clean my Lundby dollhouse?
Clean your Lundby dollhouse by gently wiping it with a dry cloth. Do not use water or cleaning products.
Why is dollhouse play good for children?
Dollhouse play gives children a place to use their imagination and create their own homes, characters and stories. Lundby is designed to inspire imaginative play, with familiar environments and small details that children can use as starting points for their own stories.
Where can I find the full Lundby assortment?
You can explore the full range of Lundby dollhouses, furniture and accessories at lundby.com.
Dollhouse Furniture & Accessories
Which accessories fit my Lundby dollhouse?
Lundby has its own range of furniture, dolls and accessories designed to create and furnish the Lundby dollhouse world. The range also includes small Miniverse accessories for adding more details to the dollhouse.
Why aren't all Lundby furniture and accessories made of wood?
Wood is an important material in the Lundby range and is used where it works best. Other materials make it possible to create the tiny, recognisable details that bring the Lundby world to life, giving children more to discover and more ways to create their own little stories.
By combining different materials, Lundby products can balance safety, detail, play value and quality.
Dollhouse Lighting
How does the lighting work?
Lundby's current illuminated furniture and lamps use battery-powered LED lighting.
Do Lundby dollhouses need to be connected to a power outlet?
If you are using battery-powered Lundby lighting, the dollhouse does not require a power outlet.
The current Lundby dollhouses, Star and Wonder, as well as the previous Life and Creative models, do not have electrical sockets for connecting lights. Older Lundby dollhouses designed to be plugged into a wall outlet can also use the current battery-powered lighting, allowing you to place lights freely in the house without connecting them to the electrical system.
What batteries do Lundby lamps use?
Lundby lamps use CR2032 button cell batteries. Batteries are sold separately.
How do I change the batteries in Lundby dollhouse lamps?
For safety reasons, the battery compartment is secured with a screw and should be opened by an adult. Unscrew the battery cover, replace the CR2032 button cell battery, and securely fasten the cover again before the lamp is used.
Do Lundby dollhouse lights switch off automatically?
Yes. Lundby dollhouse lights switch off automatically after 15 minutes to help extend battery life.
Dollhouse Dolls
How big are Lundby dolls?
Lundby adult dolls are approximately 10.5–11 cm tall, child dolls are approximately 9 cm tall, and baby dolls are approximately 4.7 cm tall.
Can I change the dolls' clothes?
Yes. The dollhouse dolls' clothes can be taken off and put back on.
Can the dolls move their arms and legs?
Yes. Lundby dolls have movable arms, legs and heads.
Older Lundby Dollhouses & Accessories
It is wonderful to see the great interest in older Lundby dollhouses and accessories, and how they continue to be treasured, restored and passed on to new generations.
As Micki did not develop Lundby products made before 1997, information about specific older models, their construction and technical specifications is limited. For questions about older Lundby dollhouses, furniture and accessories, Lundby collector and enthusiast communities on social media are a great source of knowledge and experience, for example Facebook groups dedicated to Lundby dollhouses.
How can I tell which Lundby dollhouse model I have?
For older Lundby dollhouses, there may not be enough information available to reliably identify individual models. Lundby collector and enthusiast communities on social media are a great source of knowledge about older houses and can often help with identification.
What should I consider when renovating an old Lundby dollhouse?
For older houses, specific advice about construction, materials or technical components may not be available. Lundby collector and enthusiast communities are a great source of advice and inspiration, with extensive experience of restoring older houses.
Can I replace the wallpaper in my Lundby dollhouse?
Yes. Both new and older Lundby dollhouses can be given a new look with new wallpaper. If possible, take the dollhouse apart first and work with the walls on a flat, stable surface. We recommend using slightly thicker paper for better durability and applying a thin layer of glue stick around the edges of the wall. Carefully press the wallpaper into place to avoid bubbles and creases, and let the glue dry before reassembling the dollhouse.
For more tips and free downloadable and printable dollhouse wallpapers, see the guide "Dollhouse wallpapers – download for free" on mickiofsweden.com.
Do old Lundby expansion floors or Room modules fit the new Lundby dollhouses?
Yes, in general. They have the same width and can be placed on top of the new Lundby dollhouses. However, there is no locking mechanism to secure the older modules to the new houses, so they will simply rest on top.
Please note that we cannot guarantee compatibility with Lundby expansion floors or modules made before 1997.
Does all Lundby furniture fit all Lundby dollhouses?
Yes, as a general rule. Lundby dollhouses have traditionally been made in approximately 1:18 scale, so new and older furniture can generally be used in both new and older Lundby dollhouses.
Some accessories in the current range are slightly larger to better suit children's play and to meet current toy safety requirements. This means that the proportions may differ somewhat between products from different periods, but as a general principle, old furniture can be used in new Lundby dollhouses and new furniture in older houses.
Do old Lundby lamps work in new Lundby dollhouses?
No. Lundby's current dollhouses use battery-powered lighting and do not have electrical sockets for connecting older electric lamps.
Please also note that older Lundby dollhouses with electric lighting systems have used different voltages over the years. This means that electrically powered dollhouses and lamps from different periods may not be compatible.
Do new Lundby lamps work in old Lundby dollhouses?
Yes. Since Lundby's current lamps are battery-powered, they can be used in older Lundby dollhouses without access to an electrical connection.
Are older Lundby dollhouses and accessories safe to use?
Older Lundby dollhouses in good condition generally do not give cause for concern. However, as Micki did not develop Lundby products made before 1997, information about the materials and components used in these products is limited.
Toy safety requirements have also evolved over the years, with major changes to EU requirements for certain phthalates in 2007 and further strengthened requirements since then. Extra attention may therefore be appropriate for older dolls, soft plastic accessories and electrical components.
All current Lundby products are carefully developed and tested according to applicable EU toy safety requirements, which are closely monitored and followed.
